Independent & Independent-Minded Breweries We Love

We're passionate about working with independent craft breweries that share our commitment to quality. Three breweries that regularly feature on our taps are Vocation Brewery, DEYA Brewing Company, and Verdant Brewing Co. — all producing exceptional craft beers that we're proud to pour.

Vocation Brewery, based in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, are known for bold, full-flavoured beers brewed with real care. Their IPAs and pale ales are among the most consistent and well-regarded in the UK craft beer scene, and they're a firm favourite with our regulars in Lichfield.

DEYA Brewing Company, based in Cheltenham, have built a devoted following for their hazy, juice-forward IPAs and pale ales. Their Steady Rolling Man is one of those beers that converts people to craft — soft, tropical, and endlessly drinkable. If it's on the bar, order one.

Verdant Brewing Co., based in Penryn, Cornwall, have developed a near-cult following for their hazy, soft IPAs and pale ales. They brew in small batches and their beers sell out fast — when we have Verdant on, it never lasts long.

Beyond these three, our eight keg lines feature a constantly evolving selection from some of the best independent breweries across the UK. We're always on the lookout for something new, whether it's a limited release, a seasonal special, or a brewery we've just discovered at a beer festival.

Eight Rotating Keg Taps What to Expect on the Bar

With eight rotating craft keg lines, there's always a broad range of styles to explore. On any given visit to WIP in Lichfield you might find:

  • Pale ales and IPAs — the backbone of any great craft tap list, from session-strength pales to big, hoppy West Coast IPAs
  • Lagers and pilsners — craft-brewed lagers that are a world apart from the mainstream
  • Stouts and porters — rich, dark beers that come into their own by the fireplace in autumn and winter
  • Sours and wild ales — for the adventurous; tart, complex, and always interesting

Because the list changes so often, the best way to see what's on is simply to come in. Our staff know every beer on the bar and are happy to walk you through what's pouring — whether you're a seasoned craft beer drinker or trying something new for the first time.
